Theft of tools, money and credit cards also under investigation
Three tons of counterweights, numerous tools and even money and a credit card were reported stolen in thefts being investigated by the Kern County Sheriff's Rural Crimes Investigations Unit.

Twenty four gray Lufkin oilfield counter weights, weighing 250 pounds each, were stolen from an oil pump located near Highway 119 and Harrison Street. The unknown suspects also caused approximately $7,000 damage to the pump during the theft. Refer to case #SR12-31334.
The following property was stolen from several seatrains located in a secure yard in the 25000 block of Highway 33: One 3500W generator, one rotor hammer, one pulling rope and two Frigidaire air conditioning units. Refer to case #SR12-31950.
A small amount of cash and a company gas card were stolen from an unlocked work truck while it was parked in a fenced yard located in the area of Highway 33 and Midway Road.
