Rain is likely by midweek in the Taft area, but it doesn't look like we'll be seeing very much of the wet stuff.
The National Weather Service is predicting a 60 percent chance of showers by midday Wednesday continuing through the evening hours.
The chance of showers tapers off to 40 percent on Thursday.
No more than two-tenths of an inch is likely, however, the NWS said.
The seasonably cool weather is going to cool even more later in the week with highs Tuesday reaching the upper 60s before dropping off 10 degrees with the clouds and rain coming in Wednesday.
The cooler weather is going to bring the snow level in the south end of the valley down to 4,000 feet, so travel on the Grapevine and through Tehachapi pass on Highway 58 could be impacted.
Overnight lows will drop into the low 40s.
After a break in the weather Friday and Saturday, another system will bring a chance of rain Saturday night into Sunday.
