Showers are ending across the area after a surprisingly wet storm moved through the area overnight, dropping nearly a half inch of rain in Taft overnight.
Ass the showers end, however, it increases the likelihood of fog, and the National Weather Service has issued a dense fog advisory covering the entire southern San Joaquin Valley that goes into effect at midnight Thursday and continues through noon on Friday.
The storm that hit Wednesday night dropped .43 hundredths of an inch in Taft by daybreak and showers are expected to diminish over the day Thursday.
The storm also brought cold air with it and highs are expected to stay in the low 50s for several days. Overnight lows will be around 40.
