Rain showers are expected to continue through the day.
The rain was a bit late in coming but it has already dropped .20 inches in Taft early Tuesday morning.
There is a 50 percent chance of showers today, dropping off to 20 percent overnight.
The next concern is cold weather.
The National Weather Service has issued a frost advisory for the entire southern San Joaquin Valley for Wednesday morning.
Temperatures could drop below 32 degrees in some areas., but Taft is expected to stay a little warmer that the coldest spots.
After the current showers move out, fair to partly cloudy weather is expected for a couple of days with overnight lows in the upper 30s to low 40s and highs in the 50s
More rainshowers and unsettled weather is expected to move into the area Friday and stay through the weekend.
