One event will take place December 31 while the other one will take place January 2

In just a few days 2012 will come to an end and 2013 will begin. The West Side Recreation and Park District is giving kids the opportunity to celebrate with a pair of events.

The first will take place Monday, Dec. 31 with the New Year’s Eve Rockin’ Kids Party. The event is open to those between the fourth and eighth grade. Kids will have the chance to bowl, hang out with friends and play in the gym.

The event will go from  8 p.m.-midnight and the cost is $10 per person. There must be a minimum of 10 participants by December 28.

A couple of days later, the WSRPD will hold a Youth New Year kickoff on Wednesday, Jan.2 from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. It is open to those from the second to eighth grade. There will be unlimited bowling, open gym and raffles throughout the day. No pre registration required. The cost is $10 per person.
