  • There's is a strong likelihood of light rain overnight and into Sunday morning for the Taft area from a cold storm system expected to move through the area.
    The storm isn't expected to drop a lot of precipitation but low snow levels could impact travel for people planning to drive south over the Grapevine or even over Grocer Grade on Sunday.
    There's a 60 percent chance of rain for the Taft area Saturday night and Sunday morning.
    Rain with some snow showers for elevations over 3500 feet is likely as the storm moves through.
    That means the Grapevine and possibly even on Highway 166 south of Maricopa could be impacted by snow or ice, so drivers should use caution there, especially in the overnight and early morning hours.

    For Taft, the change in the weather will warm the early morning low temperates up to the upper 30s to near 40s after several days of frost.
    Highs expected to warm from about 51 on Sunday to near 60 by Wednesday.
    The weather is expected to clear after lingering showers Sunday night with mostly clear weather through midweek.
    Another weather system could impact the area by later in the week.
