Kern County's newest Fourth District Supervisor David Couch was sworn into office Monday during a private ceremony in his district office.
Couch served 14 years as a Bakersfield City Councilman prior to winning the election for Kern County Supervisor on June 5, 2012. The Fourth District represents Frazier Park, Pine Mountain Club, Maricopa, Taft, Buttonwillow, Wasco and parts of west Bakersfield.
"I look forward to working for the people of the Fourth District and the entire County, " Couch said. "It's important to make sure that our system of County government is open and accessible to everyone." said Supervisor David Couch.
Couch said his goals for the district are to strengthen Kern County's business climate, create more jobs, improve public safety, and improve relations with cities and other governmental agencies.
Couch is a graduate of Bakersfield High School and San Jose State University.
He's raised 3 children in Bakersfield and has over 20 years of experience as a local financial advisor.
