Program will take place from February 1 to August 1
Just in time to keep that New Year’s resolution alive, the West Side Recreation and Park District is offering the Weight Loss Challenge over a period of six months.
The challenge will start Friday, Feb. 1 and will last until Thursday, Aug. 1. The cost is $30 per person.
The way it works is an individual comes in during designated weight times for a certified trainer to log that person’s progress. Trainers will be available to those who would like help (trainers fees applicable).
Those with the highest weight loss will win.
Exercise and eating regimens are up to the individual. Individuals can work out at their own pace and are allowed to use a personal trainer and for meal plans.
Weight loss must be achieved through diet and exercise. No weight loss surgeries, adjustments or medical alterations during the challenge will be counted.
Weight loss due to sickness or out of a person’s control is acceptable.
The overall goal of the challenge is to lose 500 pounds. Weigh in times will be given at the time of registration. The deadline to sign up is Thursday, Jan. 31.
