Two vehicles and a building were damaged in a spectacular crash Monday night in Ford City, but both drivers walked away with no apparent injuries.
It happened at Harrison and Ash Street at 6:47 p.m.
California Highway Patrol officer Adam Taylor said the driver of a Chevy Suburban was eastbound on Ash and stopped at Harrison.
The woman driving the SUV apparently failed to see a Toyota Scion traveling north on Harrison and proceeded into the intersection.
She apparently tried to avoid the Scion at the last moment but the cars hit and the Suburban overturned, ending up on its side with the rear striking the building on the northeast corner of the intersection.
The Suburban driver was helped from her vehicle by Taft City Councilman Orchel Krier, who happened on the scene moments after the crash.
Alcohol was not a factor, Taylor said.
