KCFD station in Taft hosting blood drive Thursday. You can pick either fire and EMS or law enforcement to support

Houchin Blood Bank's third annual Boots & Badges Blood Drive recognizing National Burn Awareness Week is scheduled for February 4- 9, 2013.
It will be coming to Taft on Feb. 7 (Thursday) and it will be held from 2 to 4:30 p.m. at Kern County Fire Station 21. 303 Tenth St, thanks to a partnership between Houchin and the KCFD.
It’s a “battle of the badges” between law enforcement vs. fire and EMS to see who can show the most support for blood donation, which in turn saves the lives of burn victims and other trauma patients.
All blood donors will be able to cast their vote for either Law Enforcement, or Fire and EMS, and the winning team’s name will be emblazoned on a perpetual plaque.
Donors can also enter to win a $500 gift card to the new Apple Store compliments of San Joaquin Community Hospital, home of the Grossman Burn Center.
More information about supporting the efforts of our first responders with a blood donation is available by calling the blood bank at 661-323-4222.  Hours at the blood bank are Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday 9 am to 6 pm, Thursday 9 am to 8 pm, and Saturday 9 a.m to 3 p.m.
