A probation search by Kern County Sheriff''s deputies led to the discovery of numerous items believed stolen from Occidental of Elk Hills.
The items were found in Derby Acres, and a Derby Acres man has been charged with possession of stolen property.
Sgt. Martin Downs said deputies went to the home at 23354 Arnold Avenue on Jan. 29 to conduct a search on William Jones, 34, who was on probation for a June 2012 for two counts of possession of stolen property.
Jones was sentenced to 120 days in jail and placed on probation for 3 years.
He was not at home when deputies arrived, but they did notice 55-gallon drums and items that could be used to syphon fuel, Downs said.
Deputies returned the next day to search and found galvanized roofing materiel that matched the description of items stolen from an Oxy lease, Downs said. An Oxy representative was called to the scene and identified the materiel as that taken in ta recent theft.
More items were found, Downs said, including wire, electric lights, a large spool of wire, and other items, some of which were linked to the Oxy theft.
Jones was arrested on another charge of possession of stolen property.
