At least two building damaged in fire

 Kern County firefighters are on the scene of a fire in South Taft that has heavily damaged at least two buildings, one of them a house.

The fire broke out about 11:30 a.m. Tuesday and a large column of smoke was visible as firefighters rushed to the scene .

Four engines plus a ladder truck are on scene.

The cause of the fire is not immediately known No injuries were immediately reported.
