A cold, wet and windy weather system is poised to move through the area starting late Monday night, dropping temperatures by nearly 20 degrees and bringing showers and gusty winds.
After several days of 70-degree weather, temperatures will drop rapidly with highs only in the 50s for the rest of the week.
There's a chance of showers starting about 4 a.m. Tuesday and showers are likely by midday and continuing through the evening before tapering off early Wednesday.
Tuesday will be breezy with chilly northwest winds of 10 to 20 miles per hour.
Higher gusts are possible.
Up to one-quarter inch of rain is possible from the storm system.
A couple of more systems will move through the area later in the week but not much rain is expected.
