Taft College edges out West Hills Lemoore by five

Freshman center Crystallyn Faletoi scored 17 points and grabbed eight rebounds Wednesday night to pace Taft College to a 65-60 Central Valley Conference women’s basketball victory over West Hills-Lemoore.

It was Faletoi’s season scoring high as the Cougars improved to 5-6 in the CVC and 10-16 overall.

Sophomore Zanoria Echols had a solid game with 11 points, 5 rebounds, 5 ssteals and 4 assists.

Bezait Anbesse had 8 points, 11 rebounds and blocked 6 shots for the Cougars.

Erica Evans also had 11 rebounds to go with her 11 points and 3 assists.

Ramonique Redding also finished in double figures with 10 points and dished off 3 assists.

Mylasia Smith had 5 points, Schalon Baysinger 2 and Shelly Gill 1.

The Cougars finish off the season Saturday with a trip to Fresno to play the undefeated defending champion Fresno City College Rams.
