Officers seven agencies join Taft Police. Three arrested on drug trafficking charges
Ten people were arrested in Taft on Saturday when Taft Police, joined by officers from seven other Kern County law enforcement agencies, served two search warrants and conducted a large-scale probation sweep.
The search warrants led to the arrest of three people on drug trafficking charges and seven other for probation violations or other charges, Taft Police Sgt. Shad Swanson said.
A total of 35 officers participated, including officers from the Taft Police Department, the Kern County Probation Department, the Ridgecrest Police Department, the Delano Police Department, the Shafter Police Department, the Kern High School District Police Department, and the Arvin Police Department, Swanson said.
A warrant served at 701 Buchanan St Apt C led to the seizure of a variety of drugs and two arrests.

Swanson said approximately 1.7 grams of suspected heroin were seized along with about 17 grams of marijuana.
In addition, the sergeant said, several illegally possessed opiate prescription pills were located, including oxycodone and methadone.
The second warrant was served at 119 Adkisson Way where officers seized more than two ounces of methamphetamine with an estimated street value of $6,000, Swanson said, along with other items indicative of drug sales.
