Taft Police, assisted by officers several other law enforcement agencies, fanned out across Taft early Saturday, serving two search warrants, making several arrests and conducting a probation and parole sweep.
Officers served narcotics search warrants, one in Ford City and the other in Taft, and seized illegal drugs, Lt. Pete Aranda said.
“There have been arrests at both locations,” Aranda said.
Officers seized approximately two ounces of methamphetamine at one location and heroin at a second site, the lieutenant said.
The sweep is targeting people who are under post custody supervised release, Aranda said.
These are felons who would have been on parole before the prison realignment of AB109 in 2011 shifted supervision of the convicted criminals to the counties.
Taft Police will be releasing more information later in the day.
