City was concerned about reports it was going to close
The Taft City Council got in an uproar recently based on reports that PG&E was going to close its service yard in Taft.
Apparently, it was much ado about nothing.
According to Fourth District Supervisor David Couch's office, PG&E has no plans to close the yard.
Couch aide Ryan Schultz sent out an email Thursday afternoon stating that PG&E senior government affairs representative Matthew Park called Couch's office to say the yard was not closing.
Several councilmen had expressed concern about the yard closing, saying it would create delays in after hours service in the Taft area, especially in times of a natural disaster or emergency.
