Wildcats have a score of 431

After several non-league matches, the Taft boys golf team made the switch to the South Sequoia mini tournament season Thursday. The Wildcats liked the transition after finishing second at the par 64 Delano Golf Club.

“Our guys played well and had a good second place finish,” said Taft coach Mike Goodwin.

Overall Taft finished with a round of 431. Bakersfield Christian was first with a 391 while Shafter was third with a 449. Cesar Chavez was next with a 476 while Wasco shot a 504.

Individually, Harrison Sorensen and Nick Pommerville each shot the lowest round for the Wildcats with an 80. Toby Taylor was one stroke back with an 81 while Eli Kindred followed with an 89. Dylan Sivils chipped in with a 101 while Casey House rounded out the scoring with a 109.

Taft returns to league competition Thursday when they travel to Wasco to compete at Valley Rose Golf Course.
