Taylor shoots low round for Taft with a 97

The Taft boys golf team got a tuneup to their next league match Monday when they competed in the Stockdale Invitational at Seven Oakes Country Club in Bakersfield.

“We played well on a tough course against some very tough conditions,” said Taft coach Mike Goodwin.

Toby Taylor shot the lowest round of the day for the Wildcats with a 91. Tanner Liekam followed with a 97 while Nick Pommerville shot an even 100.

Eli Kindred chipped in with a 113 while Brandon McCostlin was one stroke back. Casey House rounded out the scoring with a 117.

Following Thursday’s league match, Taft will return to the comforts of Buena Vista Golf Course Monday to take on West and Highland. The match begins at 1 p.m.
