  • Angela Hanna was formally sentenced for her role in the death of her 3-year-old daughter Tuesday morning.
Hanna, 31, was ordered to spend 10 years in prison at the Valley State Prison for Women for her no contest plea to four counts of willful cruelty to a child.
She will receive credit for about 20 months of time served – 316 days for time actually served and 316 days good time.
Hanna agreed to spend no more than 10 years in prison in a plea bargain with prosecutors reached in September 2012 for the January 25, 2012 death of her daughter, Trinity Monique Hanna.
Hanna pleaded no contest to the child cruelty charges and agreed to testify against her then-boyfriend, Eric Foster, in the torture and beating death of Trinity.
In exchange, several other charges, including second degree murder, were dropped. The plea agreement is contingent on her testifying truthfully against Foster.
Foster has pleaded not guilty to all charges, including torture and first degree murder, and is scheduled to go on trial in September.
Angela Hanna drove her daughter to a Bakersfield hospital on Jan. 25 where she was pronounced dead.
She was questioned at the hospital but not arrested.
Foster was taken into custody the next morning for questioning and arrested later that day.
Hanna was subsequently arrested on May 25 when she came to a hearing for Foster in Bakersfield.
