  • Overdose leads to arrest on heroin, methamphetamine charges

  • Kern County Sheriff's deputies arrested a man in Ford City on drug charges one night after he overdosed.
    Deputies responded along with fire and ambulance to a reported overdose about 11:40 p.m. on March 17n the 300 block of North Lincoln.
    The man, later identified as Jack Olitsky, was found laying outside a house by his girlfriend, Sgt. Martin Downs said.
    Olitisky was taken to a hospital.Deputies examined his pants and found his identification, plus several clear plastic bags with a total of 3.5 grams of methamphetamine in them and a loaded syringe.
    The deputies obtained a warrant and returned to the home the next night just before midnight.
The contacted Olitsky, Downs said, and arrested him.
    During a search, they found 10 bindles with a total of 9 grams of tar heroin in his pants pockets plus 27 oxycodone tablets and two morphine tablets, Downs said.
    A search of the house led to the discovery of a spoon with burned heroin residue, plus several used and unused syringes.
    Litisky was subsequently charged with two counts of possession of a controlled substance of a controlled substance and possession of paraphernalia.
    He is being held on $100,000 bail.
