  • “To achieve great things, two things are needed: a plan, and not quite enough time.”
    — Leonard Bernstein, American composer, conductor, author, music lecturer and pianist
The plan is in place: During the month of April the people behind last year’s National Novel Writing Month (also known as NaNoWriMo) are holding “Scriptfrenzy, with the goal for participants of writing a 100-page script.
And you’re invited – even encouraged – to participate.
“You may remember NaNoWriMo last November,” said Dave Berry, Taft College library director. “The library hosted a writing group on campus every Saturday for that month. People around the world took up the challenge to write a 50,000-word novel in 30 days.
“We’re doing it again. April is “Scriptfrenzy," when the goal is to write a 100-page script between April 1-30.”
West Kern County script-writers can meet in room G-10 at Taft College from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. every Saturday in April. Computers are available
“Scripts can be of any type: screen, stage, graphic novel, webcomic, whatever,” Berry said. “Collaboration is welcome.”
There is no entry fee or prize for the competition, except the pride of completion and the fun of participating, he said.
Now, the question is: Do you have “not quite enough time” to drive you to achieve great things..
