Lopez, 24, was arrested Sunday night after a car slammed broadside into a tree on Highway 119 just north of East Kern Street.
Lopez and a second man escaped with minor injuries.
But the third man, who police say is Lopez' bother, was fatally injured and died later that night at Kern Medical Center.
His name has not been released.
Bail for Lopez has been set at $125,000 for the manslaughter cases, which also include charges of gross vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated, DUI causing great bodily injury, driving with a blood alcohol of greater than .08 percent causing injury and a misdemeanor count of driving without a license.
Lopez is being held without bail on an immigration hold from the United States Border Patrol.
