ELSIE LOUELLA HOGAN
1912 – 2013

A graveside funeral service will be held in the West Side District Cemetery on Thursday, April 11,

2013 at 1:00 p.m. for longtime Taft resident, Elsie L. Hogan, 100. Rev. Mark Fitzsimmons will

officiate at the service. Mrs. Hogan was born in Pottawatomie County, Oklahoma on August 24, 1912

and passed away in Taft on April 4, 2013. She had always belonged to full gospel churches and in

most recent years was attending the Lighthouse Foursquare Church. Mrs. Hogan was known as a

prayer warrior. She was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Rollo Hogan; her son, Darrell

Hogan; her brothers and sisters, Luther, Flavel and J.R. Swarb, Ethel and Stacey Daughtery and Violet

Lott; and by her nephew, Glenn Lott. Mrs. Hogan is survived by her daughter and her husband,

Jacqueline and Lloyd Karnes of Taft; her grandchildren and their spouses, Karen and Jerry Brizendine

of Taft, Kristen and Don Martin of Spokane, Washington, Dennis and Malynn Hogan of Southern

California, and Melinda and Wade Felty of Oakdale, California; her great-grandchildren, Jennifer

Brizendine, Donny Martin, Schioka Hogan, Kosei Hogan, Selah Felty, Sarah Felty and Steven Felty;

her daughter-in-law, Connie Hogan; her special nieces and nephews, Doris and Gene Decker of Taft,

Sherry and Ron Smith of Taft, and Darlene Helms of Bakersfield; and by many other nieces and

nephews. There are no visitation hours scheduled and the arrangements are under the direction of the
