While several Taft High golfers got a break between league tournaments, another group of Wildcat golfers got a chance to work on their game Monday afternoon in a loss to the South Rebels at Buena Vista Golf Course.
"The Taft High boys junior varsity squad had a good time and learned a lot about the game of golf yesterday..." said Taft coach Mike Cowan. "For some it was their first experience playing a full 18 hole round and all had smiles on their faces at the end of the match."
Overall, Taft shot a score of 627 while South had a round of 591 over an 18-hole stretch.
Taari Morgan shot the lowest score of the day for the Wildcats with a 114. Marcus Grossbard followed with a round of 120 while Edtmer Medel and Dylan Sivils each shot a 130. Rick Navarro chipped in with a score of 133 while Tanner Melton rounded out the scoring with a 137.
"The junior varsity boys look forward to a couple more matches this season to home their skills on the golf course," said Cowan.
