Team went up against Rio Bravo Greeley
After weeks of practicing, the West Side Recreation and Park District’s young track and field athletes got their chance to compete last Saturday with an element of success when they went up against a group of athletes from Rio Bravo Greeley.
Seth Bullard had one of the victories for the WSRPD by winning the youth 3000 meter boys race with a time of 11:27. RBG’s Shane Smith was second with a time of 12:15. Camden Scalara won the intermediate boys and girls 3000 meter race with a time of 12:13.
The WSRPD midget girls team finished third in the 1600 meter relay. Meanwhile, the WSRPD’s youth girls team also finished third.
Izabella Nuncio won the midget girls 80 meter hurdles with a time of 17:24 while Emily Voce was fifth with a time of 18:94. WSRPD’s Cameron Ginn finished first in the intermediate boys 110 meter hurdles with a time of 20:06.
Zayne Herrera was third in the youth girls 100 meter hurdles with a time of 20:10. Caitlin Bailey finished with a time of 20:81. The WSRPD finished second in the midget girls 400 meter relay race with a time of 1:05.80 while the bantam boys won the 400 meter relay with a time of 1:07.20.
Seth Bullard was first in the youth boys 1500 meters race with a time of 5:01.10. Hannah Covington was second in the youth girls 1500 meter race with a time of 6:31.60. RBG’s Baylie Pelham won with a time of 6:30.
Bronson Ortlieb won the bantam boys 1500 meters with a time of 6:04. Irma Montoya won the intermediate girls 200 meter hurdles with a time of 34.44 while Cameron Ginn won the intermediate boys 200 meter hurdles in a time of 30.75.
Bailey was third youth girls 200 meter hurdles with a time of 35.22 while Zayn Herrera was fourth with a time of 35.53.
Montoya won the intermediate girls 100 meters with a time of 15.25. Breanna Torres was second in a time of 20.31. Herrera was fourth in the youth girls 100 meters with a time of 15.5.
Nuncio finished second in the midget girls 100 meters with a time of 14.93 while Bree Johnson was third with a time of 14.97.
Tyler Terrell took first in the midget boys 100 meter race with a time of 14.16 while Chris Huizar was second with a time of 15.43.
Willow Pilgrim and Carolyn Quintoni finished first and second in the bantam girls division with respective times of 16.3 and 16.8. Jared S., Conner McAfee and Bronson Ortlieb were one, two and three in the bantam boys with respective times of 15.94, 16.28 and 16.72.
Ginn and Montoya won the intermediate boys and girls 400 meter races with times of 1:0510, 1:14.5. Wescott was second in the youth boys division with a time of 1:14.50.
In the field events, Scalera was second in the intermediate boys high jump with a mark of 4’2. Caitlin Bailey was second in the youth girls high with a mark of 4’4.
Terrell and Cristobal Huizar finished second and third in the midget boys long jump with respective marks of 11’9 and 11’5.
Pilgrim was first in the bantam girls long jump with a mark of 8’10. Carolyn Quintailla was third in the same category with a mark of 8’0. Richard Jennings was first in the sub bantam division where he finished with a mark of 9’4.
Ilan Katz was first in the midget boys shot put with a mark of 29’3 while Jacob Muro was first in the intermediate boys with a mark of 25’7.
Dallen Harp and Pilgrim were first in the bantam boys and girls with marks of 16’4 and 19’10. Maya K. was first in the sub bantam division with a mark of 8’10.
Ginn was first in the intermediate boys discus with a mark of 82’3.
