A graveside funeral service will be held in the Bakersfield National Cemetery in Arvin on Friday,

April 19, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. for Lloyd “Blackie” Morrison, 88. Mr. Morrison was born in Missouri on

July 25, 1924 and passed away in Reno, Nevada on April 8, 2013. He honorably served his country

as a member of the U.S. Navy. Among his enjoyments were hunting, fishing, traveling and spending

time with friends. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Juanita Morrison and his second wife,

Della Morrison; his daughter, Connie McMillin; and his sisters, Sadie and Louise. Mr. Morrison

is survived by his sons, Chris Morrison and his wife, Rose, of Kentucky and Anthony Morrison of

Taft; his grandchildren, Robert Morrison, Michele Alspaw and her husband, Ernie all of Kentucky,

Geoff DeMalade and his wife, Angie; his great-grandchildren, Lillie, Christopher, Nicky and Reece

Alspaw, Hailey, Austin and Ethan Morrison and Ashley, Thomas and Timothy De Malade; his

brothers, Raymond Morrison and Bill Morrison; and his special friend, Maria Harness. Visitation will

be held on Thursday, April 18, 2013, from 3:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. and again on Friday from 9:00 a.m.
