When a team is clicking on all cylinders, there is no slowing them down. That was the case Thursday afternoon when the Taft varsity baseball team defeated the Wasco Tigers for the second time in a week, this time by a score of 17-2.
With the win, Taft remains perfect in the South Sequoia League with a record of 8-0.
Taft did most of their work in the third and fifth innings. In the third inning, Austin Pendergrass started the rally with a sun triple to left field. The Wildcats went on to score five runs in the inning on four additional hits while sending 10 batters to the plate.
The Wildcats next big rally came two innings later when they erupted for seven runs on five hits, including Steven Gee's two run single to left field and four walks.
Wasco got on the scoreboard in two different innings with one run coming in the second and another one in the bottom of the third.
