While the Taft varsity boys team was teeing it off in Bakersfield, the Taft junior varsity boys golf team was getting a chance to play on familiar turf Wednesday when they lost to Arvin 316-299 at Buena Vista Golf Course.
“It was a chance for the younger boys to play a competitive round and everyone had a great time,” said Taft coach Mike Cowan.
Playing the front nine, Colby Stuck had the lowest round for the Wildcats with a 53. Marcus Grossbard followed with a 59 while Ricky Navarro had a round of 67. Tanner Melton was one stroke back with a 69 while Edtmer Medel rounded out the scoring with a 69.
