It was their final home game of the regular season and the Taft varsity softball team went out with a bang Tuesday afternoon when they pulled away to defeat the Robert F. Kennedy Thunderbirds 10-0.
With seniors starting the game, Taft got their offense going in the last half of the second inning by scoring four runs thanks to three hits highlighted by Cailtyn Emberson's run scoring double.
Taft added to their lead in the third inning when they scored two runs with one of them coming on Arizona Pilgrim's run scoring single.
With the winds picking up Taft's scoring reached a new level in the fourth inning after they hit two home runs with one coming from Pilgrim.
The game was called after the fifth inning due to the mercy rule.
Taft closes out the regular season Friday when they take on RFK in Delano.
