The Taft varsity baseball team put on an offensive show in their final regular season game Friday afternoon when they defeated the Robert F. Kennedy Thunderbirds 19-2 in Delano.
Taft did a good majority of their scoring in the first and second innings when they scored eight runs in each inning.
Steven Gee had one of the highlights in the first inning outburst with a pair of doubles. Kyle Adkins chipped in with a single while Jeremy Harmer had a run scoring single.
In the second inning, Harmer had the highlight with a three run triple to right field. Austin Pendergrass followed with a run scoring single. All totaled, Taft sent 14 batters to the plate.
After the Thunderbirds scored their lone two runs in the last half of the second, Taft scored a run in the third and two in the fourth. The game was called after the fifth inning.
Taft has a week off before kicking off the playoffs.
