Copper wire in oilfields targeted both times
The Kern County Sheriff's Rural Crimes Investigations Unit is investigating two unsuccessful attempts to steal copper wire in the Westside oilfields.
Approximately 100' of #2 copper wire was stolen from an electrical panel located on oilfield property on 25 Hill Road. The copper wire was located a short distance away under some weeds.

Unknown suspects damaged three power panels in an attempt to steal the copper wiring. The panels are located in the area of Franco Western Road and Reward Road.
