Rural crimes detectives investigating crimes in McKittrick area
Thieves and vandals continue to plague the oilfields around McKittrick and points north and the Kern County Sheriff's Rural Crimes investigation has been busy following up.
Here's a rundown of the latest crimes under investigation:
•The following property was reported stolen from an oil rig located in the area of Franco Western Road and Reward Road: One impact gun and sockets, three pairs of electric gloves, a clear plastic binder containing book of PRM, five folding chairs, a blue canopy, and miscellaneous hand tools. •A production rigs control panel was vandalized also located in the area of Franco Western Road and Reward Road. The unknown suspects cut three air hoses and electrical wires leading to the control panel. •Three trailers stored near a job site located in the area of Highway 33 and Highway 58 were burglarized. Reported taken were: A Dell laptop, an HP laser printer, a flat screen TV, a grey file cabinet containing miscellaneous documents, a red push broom, and a green Hoover vacuum. •Seven bevellers and an auto level were stolen from a job site located in the 25000 block of Highway 33. The bevellers are described as: Two 2"-4", one 14"-20", two 8"-12", and two 4"-8".
