Raise some money, see old friends and have a lot of fun. Event will take place on Aug. 10
A tradition will return to the Buena Vista Golf Course with the 11th annual Moron Golf Invitational and fundraiser on Saturday, Aug. 10.
The tournament will be a scramble format with a shot gun start at 12:30 p.m. Before the tournament gets underway there willl be a putting contest at 11 a.m., and a group picture at noon. At 12:15, there will be a cart girls long drive contest.
It will cost $85 to take part. The cost will include golf, a $5 donation to Taft High School, a cart, dinner at OT's and prizes. Following the tournament, dinner will be held at OT's at 7:30 p.m. If interested in only the dinner, the cost is $20.
The tournament is open to Taft High students past or present and their families and friends along with longtime residents with community ties, anyone with community approval and men only (for the golf). Those who are 65 years and older will play from the gold tees.
A day before the golf tournament gets underway there will be a Friday shootaround. Tee off is set for 8 a.m.
There will also be a raffle Saturday, along with 2013 Moron Invitational hats for $15.
