A man arrested during a February drug sweep through the Taft area was sentenced to 4 years in state prison on Tuesday.
Thomas Abel Vega pleaded no contest to one count of possession of a controlled substance for sale on May 10.
He had been held in custody since his arrest.
He will receive credit for 217 days served – 109 days actually served and 108 days for good behavior – according to Kern County Superior Court records,
Vega was one of 10 people arrested on various charges during the sweep on Feb. 23, which involved 35 officers from seven law enforcement agencies.
Taft Police reported Vega, 45, was arrested at a residence at 119 Adkisson Way, where officers served a search warrant and located 60 grams of methamphetamine with a street value of $6,000.
