The Taft District Chamber of Commerce is selling banners to local residents and businesses to show their pride in the United states armed services, to honor those serving in the arm forces or veterans.
The banners will be displayed from light poles around the city and can be customized to honor any individual who has served or is serving.
They can also be used just to show patriotism
Councilman Randy Miller has purchased one to honor his daughter Melissa, who is currently in the United States Air Force.
Councilman Dave Noerr purchased one of the first banners and his was displayed last week at the Taft city Council meeting.
The banners cost $250 and are available through the Taft Chamber of Commerce (765-2165). They will stay up though Veterans Day.
