Jeffrey William Kearney, 44, passed away on May 22, 2013 at his home in Ventura, CA, from a Pulmonary Embolism. Jeff was born in Ridgecrest on February 13, 1969 to Bill and Joann Kearney. He attended local schools, graduating from Burroughs in 1987.
As a young boy, Jeff was involved in Cub Scouts, I.W.V. Swim Team, Little League and Junior Bowling.
His teenage years found his interests turning to snowboarding, skateboarding and playing the drums. Jeff started his graphic designer career at the Daily Independent. He moved to Ventura in 1997 where he continued to work as a graphic designer until his death.
In Ventura, he took up surfing, gardening and had recently started playing the guitar.
He was an avid LA Dodger and San Diego Charger fan.
Jeff is survived by his wife, Lisa; daughter, Devyn; stepdaughter, Jordan Chierotti; stepson, Justin Carrao; mother and stepfather, Joann and Mel Nadler; sister, Julie Kearney Jacobsen (John); stepbrother, Keith Nadler Morton (Annie); nieces, Ashley Bogoger; Karina Morton; nephews, Kyle Bogoger ; Caleb Morton; and great niece and nephew, Avery and Maximus Bogoger.
Jeff was preceded in death by his father, William Frederick Kearney and stepbrother, Derek Nadler Morton.
A celebration of Jeff’s life was held in Ventura on June 1.
