Marjorie “Marge” Thacher passed away on March 20, 2013 in Folsom, California at the age of 90. She was born on May 12, 1922 in Hot Springs, Arkansas to Dr. Caspar Jennings and Marjorie Lea Jennings. The family moved to Greensboro, North Carolina where she grew up along with her older brother Wesley and her younger sister Mary Ann.
During World War II she met her future husband, Ralph, at an Army Air Corps officers’ reception at her family’s home. She and Ralph corresponded during the war and were married after the war, moving to Taft in 1946. They were married for 60 years. Marge moved to Folsom in 2007 after the death of Ralph.
Marge is survived by her son Bill and his wife Lynn of Rancho Murieta, California, her son David of Moses Lake, Washington, her grandson Adam and his wife Cathy of Oakland, California, her grandson Scott of Providence, Rhode Island, her sister Mary Ann of Panama City, Florida and her sister-in-law Ann of Burlington, North Carolina. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held in Taft on Saturday, June 29 at the Westside Oil Museum at 11:00 a.m.
