Despite the hot conditions, the Taft No.1 team is on a roll after defeating two Delano teams through the first two games of the tournament at Fink Field in Taft.
In their first game, Taft won by a score of 11-6.
Taft had a tougher time in the second game, holding on by a score of 8-7.
During that game, Taft made the first move by scoring five runs highlighted by Reagan Montgomery's run scoring triple. Delano narrowed the deficit by scoring three runs in the bottom of the first inning.
Taft increased their lead with a run in the top of the second inning but Delano countered with three runs in their half of the inning to tie the score at six.
Thanks to a pair of singles including Sierra Kosloski's, Taft retook the lead at 8-6. Delano narrowed the deficit to one but they were unable to tie the score again and the game was called due to time.
By winning, Taft plays in the championship game at 5 p.m.
