The first day of July means only one thing-the start of the West Side Little League all-star season is right around the corner.
That will be the case this weekend when three Taft Little League teams kick off their run in three different locations.
Taft’s 11-12 kick off the schedule Friday when they take on Arvin at 7:30 p.m.
One game before Buttonwillow will take on Wasco at 5 p.m. The winner of the Buttonwillow-Wasco game will face Delano on Saturday.
The winner of that game will face the winner of the Taft-Arvin game on Sunday at 7:30 p.m.
Meanwhile, the loser of the Taft-Arvin game will play the loser of the Wasco-Buttonwillow game at 5 p.m. Saturday. The losers bracket will have games on Sunday and Monday while the first championship game will be played at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, July 9.
All of the 11-12 year old games will be played at Arvin.
The Taft 9-10 year olds will start their tournament run on Saturday, July 6. They will take on the winner of the Buttonwillow-Delano game at 7:30 p.m. The winner of the game will face the winner of the Arvin-Wasco game on Sunday, July 7.
If Taft loses, they will play the 5 p.m. game on Sunday, July 7. There will also be a losers bracket game on July 8 while the first championship game will be played Tuesday, July 9 at 6 p.m.
If needed there will be another championship game following the first game.
All of the games will be played at Buttonwillow.
In previous years there would also be a Taft 10-11 year old team. While there is not one this year, there will be a senior division team.
They will start their run Saturday when they take on the winner of the Wasco-Buttonwillow game at 6 p.m. If Taft wins they will not play again until Monday, July 8 in the championship game. If they lose, they will play again Sunday, July 7 at 6 p.m. against the loser of the Wasco-Buttonwillow game.
All of the games will be played in Taft.
