Highs should be in the 90s for the weekend
The heat wave is just about over.
After a week of extremely hot weather topping out at 112 on Tuesday, a cooling trend is expected to come in starting tonight.
But its going to be muggy for a while on Friday. Just after 1 p.m. the temperature was 104 with a heat index of 105.
Relief should start coming in this evening in the form of northwest winds at 10 to 15 miles per hour becoming south after midnight. Winds could gust as high as 25 miles per hour, the National Weather Service said.
Friday night will be breezy and the overnight low is expected to drop into the upper 60s, more than 10 degrees cooler than low temperatures earlier in the week.
Saturday's high is expected to hit a relatively comfortable 96 with a high on Sunday of 99.
a warming trend is forecast by the middle of next week with highs going back over 100, but a repeat of the high heat is not expected.
