After a week off, the Taft Tigersharks returned to action without missing a beat this past Saturday when several swimmers took first place during the American Independence Summer Splash High Point swim meet at Garces High School in Bakersfield.
Carson Rodart led the charge by winning three races.
Rodart won the six year old boys 50-yard freestyle with a time of 49.02. Rodart's second win was in the 25-yard breaststroke with a time of 35.86 while the third win came in the 25-yard freestyle where he had a time of 19.87.
Rodart was also second in the 25-yard backstroke with a time of 27.17.
Vienna Perier and Alex Toro followed with each winning two races.
Perier won her races in the five year old girls 25-yard backstroke and the freestyle with respective times of 32.99 and 29.94. Meanwhile Toro was victorious in the 12-year old boys 50-yard backstroke and the 50-yard freestyle with times of 40.37 and 31.59.
The three swimmers were not the only ones to win a race.
Antonia Perier was first in the nine year old girls 100-yard IM with a time of 1:29.43. Perier was also second in the 50-yard backstroke with a time of 42.99 and second in the breaststroke with a time of 47.59.
Perier was also third in the 50-yard butterfly with a time of 44.23.
Ruby Stith was second in the 15-18 year old girls 50-yard breaststroke with a time of 38.67. Stith was also fourth in the 50-yard butterfly and the 50-yard freestyle with respective times of 35.82 and 29.77.
Cyris Gaylord was second in the eight year old boys 25-yard freestyle with a time of 17.17. Ryann Bracken was third in the six year old girls 50-yard freestyle with a time of 58.07.
