The high school baseball season has been over a couple of months now, but the honors keep coming for former Taft High baseball player Steven Gee after he was named to a pair of first team’s by Cal High Sports and the Bakersfield Californian.
Gee was selected to Cal High Sports small schools first team multi purpose hitting and pitching category. He was joined on the list by players from Pacific Grove, Hesperia, Riverside, Sacramento and Selma.
The second list Gee made was the Bakersfield Californian’s first team all area baseball list last week.
In his final season playing for the Wildcats, Gee as a pitcher went 7-2 with two complete games and a 0.78 earned run average in 13 2/3 innings. As a hitter, Gee had a batting average of .472 and led the team in runs and hits with 42 each and was tied for first in runs batted in with 23. Gee also led in doubles with 14.
Currently, Gee is playing for the Bakersfield Sound of the eight team California Collegiate League where he has three hits, two runs, a triple, two runs batted in and a stolen base.
Gee will play for the Cal State Bakersfield Roadrunners next year.
