Time may be winding down on the season, but the Taft Tigersharks swim team showed no signs of slowing down this past Tuesday when they took part in the American Splash B meet at Garces High School in Bakersfield.
Robert Heimiller had the highlight of the day for Taft by winning three races.
Heimiller started his run by winning the 10-year old boys 50-yard butterfly in a time of 54.51.
The second win came in the 50-yard breaststroke where he had a time of 53.82.
Heimiller’s final win was in the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 39.06.
Mickaela Valenti followed Heimiller by winning two races.
Valenti’s first win took place in the 13-year old girls 50-yard breaststroke where she had a time of 51.45.
Her second victory came in the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 37.61.
Along with her two victories, Valenti also had a second place finish in the 50-yard butterfly with a time of 46.84.
Kane Dayton joined the winner’s circle by winning the eight year old boys 25-yard butterfly with a time of 44.22.
Dayton followed up with a second place finish in the 25-yard backstroke where he had a time of 36.07.
Kiley Nance had a pair of second place finishes starting with the eight year old girls 25-yard backstroke where she had a time of 30.07.
Her next second place finish was in the 25-yard freestyle with a time of 25.87.
Malynn Stepp finished second in the 11-year old girls 50-yard breaststroke with a time of 53.97.
Meanwhile, Aidan Cloud finished third in the nine year old boys 50-yard backstroke and the 50-yard breaststroke with respective times of 1:08.78 and 1:33.80.
Alexandria Valenti was fourth in the nine year old girls 50-yard breaststroke with a time of 1:16.18.
