Saturday's high expected to hit 106. Chance of thunderstorms in the mountains

There's another hot weekend coming up with temperatures of at least 100 expected for the next seven days.

The coming weekend looks to be the hottest part of the coming week right now with highs in Taft expected to hit 106 on Saturday sandwiched by highs of 103 Friday and Sunday.

The Taft cooling center at the Veterans Building, 218 Taylor St., will be open on Saturday, Kern County officials announced Friday morning.

The weather cools slightly for the coming work week with highs right around 100 and lows in the mid 70s.
There is also going to be some clouds and at least a slight chance of thunderstorms over the nearby mountains with the greatest chance on Monday and Tuesday, the National Weather Service is predicting.
