An influx of monsoonal moisture is going to kick up the humidity and discomfort index and bring a slight chance of sprinkles to the Taft area for Friday.
There's another flash flood watch in the mountain areas to the south and east of Taft, where flash flooding hit earlier in the week and a very slight chance that a thunderstorm could drift off the mountains and impact the valley floor.
It also covers Kern County's eastern deserts
The flash flood watch for the mountains is in effect from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Friday.
The National Weather Service in Hanford said there is a slight chance of sprinkles through 11 p.m. Friday.
Today's high is expected to stay in the mid to upper 90s.
After that, the weather is going to warm back up with temperatures right around 100 again for the weekend.
