Alex Vasquez pleaded no contest to keeping a place to sell illegal drugs

 A man arrested in June on drug trafficking charges was sentenced to 3 years in prison Monday for keeping a place to sell illegal drugs.

Alex Vasquez, 44, was one of two people arrested on June 17 during a probation search of a South Taft home.

Vasquez and Gerri Cabella, also 44, were originally charged with for possession of a controlled substance for sales, possession of a controlled substance and child endangerment. Vasquez entered a no contest plea felony count of maintaining to a place to sell illegal drugs.

All charges against Cabella were subsequently dropped.

Two felony counts and one misdemeanor count against Vasquez were dismissed in a plea agreement.
