There's nothing better than being part of a team that wins a title.
That was what Jordan Head and Dariann Diorio experienced recently when they were part of the Bakersfield Rebels 12 and under team that won the National Softball Association's Western World Series in Ventura last week.
Head's father Ryan was the head coach of the team. Ryan along with Diorio's mother Amanda both attended Taft High School.
The Bakersfield Rebels started their magical run in the tournament last Wednesday by defeating Central Coast Impact 5-1 and losing to USA Athletics 2-0 in pool play.
As a result of the 1-1 record, the Rebels were seeded second going into double elimination bracket play on Thursday.
Following pool play, Bakersfield did not lose another game by defeating the Hot Shots 4-1 and edging out USA Athletics 10-9 to advance to the championship game.
In the championship game, the Bakersfield Rebels defeated the So Cal Choppers 6-5.
