Melissa Gore got two championship rings in diving and one in tennis

In a short period of time, former Taft High diver Melissa Gore will make the transition into college. Gore got one more chance to look back on her high school career Friday morning when she showed off her championship rings in diving and tennis at the Taft High Athletic Department office.

Gore got two of the rings in diving by being the back-to-back CIF-CS Division II champion. In her time competing at Taft High, Gore broke the Wildcat 11 and 6 dive records.

She capped her high school career this past May by breaking an eleven year old record in the Division II championship at Tulare High School with a score of 435.35. Her next closest competitor had a score of 280.15.

Besides the diving rings, Gore also got a ring in tennis when the varsity girls tennis team won their first title last fall.

Gore will begin her season at Cal State Bakersfield this October.
