The little league season ended about a month and a half ago but the Taft Longhorns baseball team was still going strong last Sunday with a 13-5 victory over Arroyo Grande on Field No.2 at the George Blanco Little League fields in Taft.
"The whole team hit the ball pretty well," said Taft coach Les Clark.
Taft's Chad Berry was 3-for-4 in the game while Logun Clark won the game. Dalton Brown closed out the game. Mikey White had three strike outs in one inning of pitching.
Pitching was not the only thing that stood out to Clark.
"Jackson Berry played excellent defense," he said.
Taft will play in two tournaments over the next several weekends starting this weekend with the Triple Play Tournament at Southwest baseball fields. The following weekend, the Longhorns will compete in a tournament in Paso Robles during the Labor Day weekend.
